This was a great purchase and I would and have recommended this product to others. So far they are also very pleased with the unit. Most of the people I know also own a PS3 which allows you to control a the (ps3) blue ray player using the Bravia sync function. I only went with 4 stars b/c I've had Sony firmware revisions for TV that would randomly reboot the TV while in use. This is really more a reflection on Sony as a whole an not this particular model. I've hears/read of others doing the same. Over all the picture quality is fantastic. I have yet to see any blurring effects so far (owend for approx 5 months now) and this Z line is mainly the same guts as Sony's top of the line XBRs. I'm hoping to buy another one soon b/c i can't handle not watching TV on this screen when in my other rooms.

This television is incredible. The only regret is that I didn't buy the 46" version, but 40" is just fine. I did not purchase this television off Amazon so I cannot give an opinion on the purchasing experience... but a warning: Once you have this television delivered, take it out of the box and closely inspect the outer frame of the television. Make sure there are no cracks on it.

The sound is pretty good but I do get the slight "tinny" sound as some reviewers claim. But that's something good speakers will fix. Don't make too much out of the sound as other reviewers are - it's fine on this television.

Watching blu rays are nothing less than spectacular on this and yes, you will go hogwild when you watch football. The colors are vivid and you don't have motion-blur. I'm noticing that my set is auto-defaulting to 60hz for most shows - trying to change it in the settings but can't seem to get the full 120hz. But it doesn't seem to matter.

This television is super light and thin. I purchased it for $1,500 during xmas week and had a major case of buyer's remorse once my credit card was swiped at the register. I kept repeating to myself: "starving kids in Africa, starving kids in Africa, starving kids in Africa." The guilt was killing me and in this recession, I should be wiser with my money.

But now, I can watch those annoying "Save the Children" infomercials in crisp HIGH DEF!!!

This television really rocks my face off!!!

I had only done about 2 hours of researching before finding this TV. The amazing reviews it received really had me exited. I bought the Samsung LN52B630 the same day I started looking for a TV. I thought I might have buyer's remorse with such an impulse purchase, but I have yet to find anything I dislike about it. I'm not sure how useful you'll find my review though; I'm comparing this TV to what I had before... a 1992 32" Mitsubishi.

After a bumpy but eventual reciept of the TV, we were happy with the end product. It looks really nice and the picture on HD channels and Blue Ray is incredible. The refresh rate can sometimes not catch up with the action on the TV and you can see some blur of the figure, but that is very infrequent. Non HD channels are pretty grainy depending on the channel and program - part of that is comparing HD to non HD. I am working with LG on the lip synch issue with certain channels where the audio is behind the video - apparently this is common. They are sending me a software update to address the problem...we'll see if that works. I was happily surprised by the picture quality of this TV. Watching football games outdoors during a tailgate party, the small text of other scores was clearly visible. Unfortunately, although right across the river from NY City's many antennas, reception was only good in certain areas. Even then, the signal would fade periodically. It has the versatility to accept input from a wired source but as a portable TV you would prefer to be free of wired connections. For the money, this is the best HDTV on the market in '09. Just don't order it here. I ordered mine through Amazon. The first time it was delivered, it had a large crack in the screen. The second time, there was a hole in the box and dent in the back of the TV. Needless to say, I cancelled my order and bought this TV from Best Buy - same price, and it wasn't broken. How about that?

I've had my 55LH55 for a few days now and its everything I hoped it'd be. HD tv, PS3 and blue ray are all crisp and extremly responsive. I have not had any issue with the lip-sync issue that others are having. It may be due to the fact that I upgraded my HDMI cables to 1.3(which you should do anyway and for the price on Amazon.com you'd be foolish not to). As for the sound it could be a little better, but for a LCD sound system it's not that bad. To be honest though why would you buy this kind of set and not hook it up to 5.1 or 7.1 surround system.

I have deliberately waited almost a year to write this review. I purchased this TV from the Amazon Warehouse as a "used" item (1st time I've tried this option) with a "scratch" on the case. I can't find the scratch!
The Tv was delivered ontime by 2 guys who unpacked it & placed it on the stand. They powered it up & checked it out before they left, making sure I was happy. They even cleaned up the packing mess.
I am still in awe of this television. It is everything I wanted. Visitors always comment on the quality of the picture & I happily refer them to Amazon.
The next thing on my wish list is a Blu-Ray player - I wonder what the picture will look like then? How could it possibly get any better?

I was looking for the best matte finish 52" lcd I could find and I believe this is the one. We had to return a very expensive Panasonic plasma after experiencing glare problems in our bedroom. Our TV faces two windows and the matte finish completely washes out any problems that we were having with the plasma. I prefer lcd tvs anyway for the nice, bright colors and whites. It's funny how the salesmen at the stores always try and convince you that the darks are so great on the plasmas, but fail to mention that plasmas are darker tvs and have gray whites. This tv has great blacks compared to my two year old Sony Bravia lcd. Samsung increased the contrast ratio on this model from previous models giving you both great brights and darks.

The only reason I didn't give this tv five stars is that we have had some issues with blur. My wife and I decided that the "soap opera" (strange affect of picture that eliminates the movie feel of watching tv) was not for us. We preferred watching at 60 hertz (automotion off)at all times except for sports (which 120 hertz is awesome!). My old Sony Bravia handled 60 hertz much better than this tv. When the camera would pan from side to side during a movie or show, the Sony only caused motion blur a few times over the two years we owned it. This Samsung shows motion blur VERY REGULARLY at 60 and 120 hertz. It can be very distracting. This is my only criticism, but it is a real problem. If you plan on watching in 120 hertz and prefer super real affect it gives, this tv will blow you away. It does produce an absolutely beautiful picture with bright vivid colors. The HD picture is stunning. I just wish it would do at least as well as my two year old Sony did on 60 hertz since this is how we almost always watch it. I just don't know why this feature would regress on a tv that is two years newer than my old one. Every other feature has been upgraded and is much better except for this one.

Still, overall I am a satisfied customer. I just with that one thing was different. I just thought I would make people aware of this one issue in case you are primarily a 60 hertz tv watcher like we are.

UPDATE 10-11-09: After doing some research, the blur problem I am having with this tv is better. I've found that you can experience 120 hertz without the soap opera effect, but I'm still getting minor blur issues. I don't know if I'll ever get it to go away completely, but I changed the automotion to "custom" and set the blur reduction all the way to 10. I am still experimenting with the judder reduction, but it works best in the range of 0-4. The lower the judder reduction setting, the lesser the soap opera effect. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to further eliminate blur on television shows and blu-ray movies without turning up the judder reduction setting, please leave a comment. Bought the TV at our local American TV about a month ago. The TV itself looks superb, picture quality is excellent for everything. Bluray movies, HD dish, PS3 games, etc. It will take some getting used to the 120hz feature, where they insert extra frames. I have it turned off 90 percent of the time because it just seems bizarre watching television that looks even TOO lifelike.

A couple drawbacks are the sound system is definitely weak, but you'll read that in almost any review. Another is that while this is a LED tv (low power consumption, low heat output), the thing seems to draw tons of power (well, current technically speaking). In our mobile home, with a 200amp main breaker (it is a large mobile home) the main breaker will trip with the television, AC, dryer and essentially any other appliance running. This has never occurred once prior to owning this tv.

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase, but (at least) a sound bar will be purchased in the future, perhaps an electrical upgrade is in order as well.
